Thank you to everyone who has donated to the Library for our Summer Reading Program! We are so grateful for their support. 

Registration is online and begins on June 24th at 10AM on our website.

Each program date and participant requires separate registration.

If two consecutive registered programs are no–show without warning, participants will be removed from future program dates in the Summer Session.

Children under 8 must have a parent or guardian stay in the Library during programs.

3. Select the program to register for on the calendar.

4. Fill in the form for each participant joining the program.

5. You will receive an email confirming your registration in our programming

Parents / guardians must stay in the library if registered child is under 8 years old. 

Join us for a variety of themed crafts, activities, games and more throughout the summer for kids ages 3-14. Each week features a new theme!
Participate in our reading challenges to earn ballots to enter for your chance to win a variety of prizes.
No registration is required to enter for the reading challenge.

Prize ballot entry officially closes at 7:00PM on August 15th.

The Summer Reading Club Workshops run from July 2nd to August 16th and a FREE library card is required for registration to our workshops.
Preregistration for our Summer Reading Club is only on June 15th during our Summer Reading Kickoff. We will have limited spaces open before registration fully opens on June 24th.

Ages 3-4:  Monday to Thursday from 11:30AM to 12:15PM

Ages 5-6: Monday to Thursday and Saturday from 10:15AM to 11:15AM

Ages 7-8:  Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:00PM to 2:30PM. Saturdays from 11:30AM to 12:15PM.

The Summer Reading Program Workshops are presented by TDSRC.
On-theme costumes are welcome!

 

Please note: Due to the demand of our Summer Reading Workshops if two consecutive registered programs are no–show without warning, participants will be removed from future program dates in the Summer Session. Program plans for the same age range will be the same throughout the week, please consider registering for only one session per week.

STEAM Workshop Mondays and Specified Thursdays from 3:00PM to 4:00PM. Ages 6-12.

Join us each Monday for a new science themed activity based on the themes from our Summer Reading Program.

Hanging Solar Systems Thursday July 18th from 3:00PM to 4:00PM. Ages 6-12.

In this craft, participants will create their own hanging solar system with comets, stars, or planets.
This program is presented by Marigold Library System.
Registration required.

 

 

Ozobots Thursday August 8th from 3:00PM to 4:00PM. Ages 6-12.

In this program we will be learning how to code using colors, and Ozobots which are engaging round robots that read color and follow the instructions based on red, green, blue and black coding.
This program is presented by Marigold Library System.

Join us every Friday at the Library for a new performance  from a local organizationor company!

 

Puddle of Mud July 5 from 1:00PM to 1:45PM.

Puddle of Mud Productions is an arts organization that has been catering to movers, shakers, and thespians of all ages since 2007!  They specialize in ‘creativity with a splash’ through our dance, drama, voice, yoga, film, music and other programs.

Mobile Adventure Playground July 12th from 10:00AM to 3:30PM.

Join the City of Chestermere’s Mobile Adventure Playground.

Mobile Adventure Playgrounds are outdoor play spaces consisting of loose parts and found items for children to explore without adult intervention. 
Parents must supervise their children while they are playing at the Mobile Adventure Playground.
No registration required.

 

Calgary Reptile Party July 19th at 1:30PM.

Join Calgary Reptile Parties for an educational presentation, Q&A, and time to pet some of their 8 reptiles joining us!

Mad Science: Playing with Polymers July 26th from 1:30PM to 2:30PM.

Learn about the most fascinating and beneficial molecule known to mankind...Polymers with Mad Science of Southern Alberta. Learn how polymers are held together, how their bonds can be broken and mix up some Mad Science Slime to take home.

Abstract Dance August 2nd from 3:00PM to 3:30PM & 3:45PM to 4:15PM.

Join Abstract Dance for two separate sessions for some dance fun!

Christopher Cool Magic Show August 9th at 2:00PM to 2:45PM.

Christopher Cool the Magician will take our young readers on an adventure with magic, music, storytelling & so much more! This 40-45 minute interactive comedy magic show is perfect for children aged 4-8.
Registration is required for each person attending.

 

Mother Goose By The Lake Wednesdays from 10:00AM to 11:00AM. Ages 0-5
Join Trellis, Chestermere Public Library, and PCSS in front of the library for songs, play, and snacks on Wednesdays throughout the summer. Enjoy a take-home craft kit and resources each week. We have some special visits happening on July 17th with Author Christina Hatton-Fearnley, and on August 14th with a Fire Truck! Mother Goose By The Lake runs from July 10th to August 14th.

Storytime Posted on YouTube Thursdays from 10:00AM.  From July 4th - August 29th.

Drop in Baby Storytime Fridays from 10:15AM to 10:45AM. Age 0-12 Months.
Baby Storytime is for parents, caregivers, and babies 0-12 months. There are songs, stories, and more to enjoy! Stay after for our Bibs, Burps, and Breaks at 10:45AM.
No registration required.

 

Mindful Readers Mondays from 10:30AM to 12:30PM. Ages 5-10 and Caregivers.

Join Alberta Health Services, Rocky View Schools, Stepping Stones to Mental Health, and the Chestermere Public Library in-person for a FREE drop-in mindfulness program for caregivers and children ages 5 - 10. Each week will be a new mindfulness story and activity.
Runs Mondays from July 8th to August 19th.

 

Super Summer Playdate & Storytime Tuesday, July 16th from 10:15AM  to 11:30AM. All ages.

Come join us for stories, songs and of course BUBBLES! Everyone is welcome. Afterward please stay for a playdate. Meet other parents and guardians in your neighborhood and make new friends! A snack will be provided. Special guest Mel from Harmony Health and Fitness will be leading us in a fun and energetic parent and littles dance adventure.

Teddy Bear Picnic & Storytime Tuesday, August 6th from 10:15AM to 11:30AM. All ages.

Join us for a very special Teddy Bears Picnic Storytime on Tuesday, August 6th. Bring your blanket, picnic, and your favorite stuffy. We will have stories, puppets, songs and
bubbles. Special guest Mel from Harmony Health and Fitness will be leading us in a fun and energetic parent and littles dance adventure.

Teen Summer Literary Challenge Ages 15+.

Marigold Teen Summer Reading Program Begins Thursday, June 27th. Ages 12-17.

Each year, our library system Marigold puts on a teen summer reading challenge. Read books, participate in the activities, and earn your chance to win big prizes throughout the summer.

Mobility & Restore Yoga Wednesday, June 19th from 5:45PM to 6:45PM.

Transition into summer feeling balanced and restored. Join Robyn and
special guest Jacqueline for this dreamy class. We will explore breath, meditation, joint mobility and restorative yoga asana paired with optional essential oils and head massage.  

This class is suitable for adults and older adults of any experience level.

Adult Creative Club: Origami Succulents Wednesday, July 3rd from 5:30PM to 6:30PM.

Are you having trouble deciding which fun category to enter at this year’s RVC Ag Society’s Red Ribbon Competition in September? Look no further!

Join us with a special guest from the Rocky View Chestermere Agricultural Society and learn how to make an adorable origami succulent that will be sure to wow the judges.

As a bonus, your succulent will stay beautiful indefinitely and requires no water or sunlight!

Adult Creative Club: Painting & Colour Wednesday, July 10th from 5:30PM to 6:30PM.

Learn how to make your artwork pop using colour theory! Join us along with special guest artist Cathy Luby, President of the Chestermere Fine Art Guild, as she shares tips on applying colour theory basics to painting. Participants will experiment, compose, and create their own unique paintings.

Tension Release and Restore Yoga With Harmony Health & Fitness Wednesday, July 17th from 5:30 to  6:45PM.

Treat yourself and join special guest Mel from Harmony Health and Fitness to let go of built up stress and tension in your mind and body. Students will be guided through mindful stretching, breathwork, and fascia release.

This class is suitable for adults and older adults of any experience level

Preserving Your Harvest Basics & Mini Macrame Plant Holder Wednesday, August 7th from 5:15PM to 6:45PM.

Do you have a large garden, a container garden, an indoor garden? Have you found an excellent deal on bulk produce or would you like to enter the Red Ribbon Competition at the Rocky View Ag Society’s Country Fair?

Learn more about the world of food preservation! Join us along with special guest Samantha, our Library Board Vice-Chair, to explore and share various modes of food preservation, which ones work best for which foods, and recommended resources.

Participants will also make their very own mini macrame hanging plant holder!

Slow Flow Yoga With Compass Yoga Wednesday August 14th from 5:30PM to 6:30PM.

 Join special guest Vicky from Compass Yoga for a combination of slow flow movement and stretching. Take time to connect with yourself through a calming exploration of breath, balance, strength, and flexibility. This class is suitable for beginner and intermediate yoga experience levels.

TDSRC is back at the library. Preregistration for our Summer Reading Program will be officially open on June 15th with a limited amount of space available before it opens fully on June 22nd.

Duck Scavenger Hunt June 15th from 10:00AM to 3:00PM.

Ducks have taken over the Library! Help us by finding and taking home one duck.
