Each program date and participant requires separate registration.

If two consecutive registered programs are no–show without notification, participants will be removed from future program dates in the session.

Children under 8 must have a parent or guardian stay in the library during programs.

 

Steps:

1. Go to www.chestermerepubliclibrary.com

2. Select Programs and Events tab at the top of the homepage

3. Select program you want to register for on the calendar.

4. Fill in the form for each participant joining the program.

5. You will receive an email confirming your registration in our programming

 

Note: If you do not see the form to fill out, the program and its waitlist is full.

To cancel your registration, please follow the cancellation link in your confirmation  email.

Our programs fill quickly, please provide as much cancellation notice as possible.

Drop-in Storytime Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 10:15AM to 10:45AM. All Ages.

Everyone is welcome to join us for songs and stories. 
No registration required.

Growing Minds Tuesdays from 12:30PM to 1:00PM. Age 2.
Your child will grow and develop through play and a variety of activities! This playgroup is exclusively for kids aged 2 and their
parents / caregivers.
Registration required.

School Readiness Wednesdays from 1:00PM to 1:30PM and Saturdays from 10:15AM to 10:45AM. Ages 4-5.
This program is aimed towards young kids aged 4-5 to help build their confidence and
independence before they go to school.
Registration required.

 

Busy Bees Wednesdays from 1:45PM to 2:15PM and Saturdays from 11:00AM to 11:30AM. Age 3.
Your 3-year-old will grow and develop with a variety of activities, learning lessons, and crafts.
Registration required.

 

Drop in Baby Storytime Fridays from 10:15AM to 10:45AM. Age 0-18 Months.
Baby Storytime is for parents, caregivers, and babies 0-18 months.
There are songs, rhymes, stories, and playtime! Stay after for our Bibs, Burps, and Breaks at 10:45AM.
No registration required.

 

Mystery Mondays Mondays from 4:15PM to 4:45PM. Ages 6-12.

Start the week with a new surprise activity each Monday!

Registration required.

 

Chess Tuesdays from 4:15PM to 4:45PM. Ages 6-12.

You are welcome to join us for this program, whether you are just learning or you’ve already been playing chess.
Registration required.

Reading Buddies Wednesdays from 4:15PM to 4:45PM. Grades 1-3.

Join us for Reading Buddies to help facilitate reading and literacy. Teen volunteers are matched with early elementary students learning to read. We will provide an activity then the student is asked to pick a book to read with their teen buddy.

Code Ninjas Thursdays from 4:15PM to 5:15PM. Ages 6-12.

Join Code Ninjas Chestermere for an hour of code at the Library each Thursday. Learn the basics of computer science and programming in this exciting program!

Family Fun Fridays Fridays at 3:00PM. All Ages.

Family Fun Fridays are back for our Spring Program Session! Join us each week for a new activity, game, or movie for the whole family! 

 

 

Movie: Scooby-Doo! Camp Scare May 3rd. Movie rated PG.
Scooby-Doo, Shaggy, Freddy, Daphne, and Velma fish for clues to solve the mysteries of The Woodsman, The Fishman and The Banshee of Black Canyon.

No registration required.

 

Candy Sushi May 10th.

Play with your food in this craft made of gummy candies, marshmallows, and rice puff treats to make sushi look-alikes. Please note: There will be a variety of candies and snacks, please let us know if there are any food allergies.

Movie: Wonka May 17th. Movie rated PG.
Armed with nothing but a hatful of dreams, young chocolatier Willy Wonka manages to change the world, one delectable bite at a time.

Giant Board Games May 24th.

Join us at the library for a variety of giant board games!

Movie: The LEGO Batman Movie May 31th. Movie rated PG.
A cooler-than-ever Bruce Wayne must deal with the usual suspects as they plan to rule Gotham City, while discovering that he has accidentally adopted a teenage orphan who wishes to become his sidekick.

Afterschool @ CPL Saturdays Saturdays from 11:45AM to 12:15PM. Ages 6-12.

Want to experience our popular Afterschool Programs on the weekend? Each week will feature a new activity based on our current and previous Afterschool Programs.

Join us for a special Star Wars themed craft to celebrate May the Fourth.

Every month, our program facilitator will choose a theme to discuss, any comic that fits the theme is welcome to be discussed throughout the month on our Discord.

Teen Leaders Sundays from 12:30PM to 1:30PM. Ages 13-17.
Teen Leaders offers teens from 13-17 years old a chance to build essential leadership skills, foster personal growth, and empower young individuals to make a positive contribution to their communities while obtaining volunteer hours. Snacks will also be provided.

Volunteer Reading Buddy Wednesdays at 4:15PM. Volunteers between grades 7-12.

Teen Volunteer Experience Ages 13-17.
Looking to do some volunteering at the library? We are on the hunt for students to help us with our programs and special events. Please fill out the volunteer application form on our website to apply.

Self Run Book Club Set Your Dates.
Want to host your book club at the library? We will help you get everything you need and provide a space for your group to get together. We provide copies of your chosen book, library space, and cookies and coffee for your meeting!

Tiny Talk Wednesdays from 10:00AM to 12:00PM

This program is designed for parents with babies and toddlers with Chestermere Parent Caregiver Support Services. Explore topics like attachment, growth & development, sleep, feeding, and more. Tailored to your needs, families can request specific topics and ask questions about parenting.
No registration required.

 

Yoga Thursdays from 12:00PM to 1:00PM.

Join our mindful yoga series where we explore yogic breath techniques, low intensity gentle movement, and guided relaxation. This class supports an increased connection between breath, mind and body, with a focus on calming the nervous system. 

This 60-minute class is suitable for adults and older adults of any experience level.

*Please bring a yoga mat and wear comfortable clothes.

Bibs, Burps, and Breaks Fridays from 10:45AM to 11:15AM.

Join us after Baby Storytime for some time to chat with other parents and caregivers in the community. Children are welcome to play as parents and caregivers chat. We will have refreshments and snacks available.
No registration required.

 

Community Gardening & Seed Bombs Wednesday, May 22nd from 5:15PM to 6:45PM.

Do you have a budding interest in community gardening? 
Join us for a fun-filled evening with a special guest from our community. Learn about the City of Chestermere Community Gardens, Zone 3 beginner gardening tips & tricks, as well as opportunities to grow in our Library’s very first community garden plot! 

Plus make and take home your own pollinator-friendly seed bombs!

Adult Creative Club: Leaf Imprint Painting Wednesday, May 29th from 5:30PM to 6:30PM.

Celebrate spring and take home your fresh new botanical artwork to hang or gift. Design and create your own unique work of art on canvas using leaves and acrylic paint.

Mobility & Restore Yoga Wednesday, June 19th from 5:45PM to 6:45PM.

Transition into summer feeling balanced and restored. Join Robyn and
special guest Jacqueline for this dreamy class. We will explore breath, meditation, joint mobility and restorative yoga asana paired with optional essential oils and head massage.  

This class is suitable for adults and older adults of any experience level.

Adult Summer Reading Program Begins Saturday, June 15. All Ages.
Participate in our newly updated Adult Summer Reading Program and be entered to
win prizes. Learn more about our Summer Reading Program as we get closer to June!

 

Free Comic Book Day Saturday, May 4th Starting at 10:00AM.

Stop by the library and pick up a comic book for FREE! Free Comic Book Day is an annual event where participating comic book shops and Libraries around the world give away comic books for free.
We will have a limited supply of comics available for all ages, so be sure to stop by early to check out the full selection. Due to demand, we are unable to hold comics. Comics are first come first serve, and one comic per person.

Zucchini Growing Kits For Kids Saturday, May 4th Starting at 12:00PM.

Zucchini growing kits are back for the third year. Stop by the library while supplies last for a free kit at the library. We will be handing out instructions on how to grow your plant.
Zucchini grown from these kits can be entered in a special category at the Annual Country Fair in September!
No registration required.

 

Star Wars Day Movie Saturday, May 4th Starting at 1:00PM.

“May the Fourth Be With You” while we watch Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope in the main area of the Library!
All ages are welcome, and costumes are encouraged.
No registration required.

 

Summer Kick off Saturday, June 15 Starting at 10:00AM.

TDSRC is back at the library. Join us for our summer kickoff, for a variety of activities, crafts, and games! Registration for our Summer Reading Program will be officially open on June 15th so be sure to check on our website as we get closer to the date for a schedule of events and more. The Summer Reading Program Fills up quickly!

 

Summer Reading Logs Begin Saturday, June 15. All Ages.
Win one of our fabulous prizes by filling out a reading log. All ages are welcome to join to win our prizes. Print off, or pick up your log at the Library!

Reading log entries are accepted until August 15th at 7:00PM. Prizes will be pulled on August 16th.

 

Christopher Cool Magic Show Saturday, June 15th at 2:00PM.

During our Summer Reading Kickoff event, our friend and magician Christopher Cool will be here to do a special show!
