In his letter to the editor regarding tax increases, Mr Steve Staples asked the question: “in these days of internet why do libraries even exist?”

TumbleBookLibrary

Would you like to see your favourite book turned into an action-packed, interactive cartoon? TumbleBookLibrary is an online collection of animated, talking picturebooks.

TumbleBooks are created by taking existing picturebooks, adding animation, sound, music and narration to produce a picturebook which you can read on your computer, or have read to you. The collection includes Story Books, Life Learning, Puzzles & Games and Language Learning from children's book publishers such as Scholastic, Chronicle Books, Candlewick Press, Charlesbridge Press, Harcourt, Little Brown, Walker and Company and others.

Participate in the BIG LIBRARY READ

Welcome to the pilot version of Big Library Read™! This is an opportunity to unite readers — and loyal library supporters — all over the world around a single eBook: The Four Corners of the Sky. The pilot runs from May 15 – June 1, 2013.  This eBook is master storyteller Michael Malone's novel of love, secrets, and the mysterious bonds of families. The eBook will be prominently displayed on the OverDrive website during this time.

During this time, the eBook will be simultaneously available for all readers with a valid library card, so every single person in TRAC could read this book at the exact same time.
