Library Assistant– Part-Time

Chestermere Public Library is looking for a fun, positive customer service expert to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate library-loving individual who enjoys working with the public in a challenging and fast-paced environment.

Reporting to Director, the successful candidate must have the following:

  • Enthusiasm about the role of public libraries and the services that we offer
  • Enjoy working with the public
  • Flexibility - available to work day, evening and weekend shifts
  • Knowledge and practical experience with Microsoft Office, Internet, and online databases
  • Able to establish and maintain good working relations with staff and customers
  • Can learn quickly and adapt readily to new procedures and resources
  • Very good oral and written communication skills in the English language.
  • Able to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Able to exercise independent judgment 

 
Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to perform repetitive hand/arm movements, lift and carry up to 11.4 kg, able to stand for several hours
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must have a current Criminal Record Check/Police Information Check and Standard First Aid

 
Salary and Hours

  • $15.50 per hour
  • Hours will vary between 3 to 13 hours per week and include weekend and evening shifts
