How Do I Download AudioBooks & eBooks?

The Library provides two systems for eBooks: Overdrive, and 3M Cloud Library. AudioBooks are also available through Overdrive and Hoopla.

Overdrive allows you to download audiobooks (MP3 or WMA format) and eBooks (Adobe PDF or EPUB format).  They can then be played back or read on your computer, or transfered to a mobile device. 3M Cloud Library offers ebooks only.

To use these services, you need:

  • A current Chestermere Public Library card and your password (usually the last four digits of your home phone number).  You will not be able to access Overdrive if your card is expired or there are fines on your account.
  • Computer and/or supported mobile device (iPod, iPad, android tablet, WMA player, smart phone, Sony Reader, Kobo, Nook, etc)
  • Internet connection

    Plus, depending on the service:

  • Overdrive Media Console software installed on your computer or mobile device for audiobooks
  • Adobe Digital Editions for eBooks using Overdrive
  • 3M Cloud Library app on your computer or device for 3M eBooks
  • iTunes if you will be tranferring to an Apple device

Visit the TRAC Overdrive website to get started.  Be sure to read the Quick Start Guide and Guided Tour for more information.

Questions?  Check out the Help pages on each service's website, the help documents at the bottom of this page or bring your device to the Library for hands on help.
