How Do I Download AudioBooks & eBooks?

Overdrive allows you to download audiobooks (MP3 or WMA format) and eBooks (Adobe PDF or EPUB format).  They can then be played back or read on your computer, or transfered to a mobile device.

To use the Overdrive service, you need:

  • A current Chestermere Public Library card and your password (usually the last four digits of your home phone number).  You will not be able to access Overdrive if your card is expired or there are fines on your account.
  • Computer and/or supported mobile device (iPod, WMA player, smart phone, Sony Reader, Kobo, Nook, etc)
  • Internet connection
  • Overdrive Media Console software installed on your computer or mobile device
  • iTunes (if you will be tranferring to an Apple device)
  • Adobe Digital Editions (for downloading eBooks only)

Visit the TRAC Overdrive website to get started.  Be sure to read the Quick Start Guide and Guided Tour for more information.
